Ioana Bianca Anuta was born in Slatina, on August 29th 1994, where she also graduated the High School.
Her beginnings in music are co-related with the rock-alternative band X Plod, at that time, the only rock band with children. For about 3 years, Ioana was the lead-singer, participating at numerous musical contests.
When she was 13, she started studying musical theory and canto and since 2013 she is a student at Hyperion University.
In 2009, she wins Eurovision Junior Romania Finals, with the song “Girls don’t cry” and represents Romania at the international competition.
In 2012, she participates at X Factor Romania, where she proves her vocal qualities. Soon after X Factor, Ioana Anuta becomes Jo and competes together with other important singers within the music industry, in the show “Te cunosc de undeva” – where she has impressive make-overs.
2013 – becomes the TV presenter of a live show at the Romanian Television.
2014 – collaborates with Uddi (ex-colleague and afterwards friend from X-Factor) for the single “Lasa-ma pe mine” – which is also Jo’s first video.
JO releases a new single and video, this time with Dorian Popa. The song“Dragoste nebuna” is composed by the artist, together with Boier Bibescu, Alex Cotoi, Nonis G and Adrian Tutu.
In 2015, Jo releases “Soapte” – the first solo-successful single of the young artist. The song was released in February – the month of love and speaks about the comforting feeling of shared-love, with every touch and kiss, experienced with your loved one.
After several months, also in 2015, JO collaborates with Randi and releases the hit-single “Pana vara viitoare”. In only 24hours after its release, the song gathers over 300.000 views on YouTube. The single soon enters the musical tops and in only 5 months, reaches the performance of 25 million views on YouTube.
In November 2015, JO collaborates with Geørge (ex Jorge) for the single “Nimeni nu-i perfect”, released together with a video which translates in images, a series of emotions which reminds us of Hollywood retro movies.
